Books || Harry Potter || The Philosopher's Stone

It's been a good while since I read the Harry Potter books, I'd estimate at least five years maybe
more, its hard to tell all I know is books I have as paperbacks are literally falling apart. Without a
doubt I watch the films at least twice a year (partially because if they're on TV I just HAVE to sit
and watch them – even though I have all the DVDs of course) but I don't read the books nearly as
often. This has been because for the last few years at least I've had things I have HAD to read and
for nearly a year now I've had complete freedom over what I can read and this year reading this
series again was a must. The Harry Potter books have always held a special place in my heart, most
probably because I grew up with them I read the first book when I was about 7/8 and the last book
was released when I was 13/14 and of course through those years the films also came out too. It was
probably my first proper venture into the realms of the fantasy genre and being swept up in the
magic and this amazing world full of these inspirational characters was just brilliant.

Craft || Craft Haul

One of my goals for this year was to get more crafty, so I thought it was about time I went out to get some more supplies and I wanted to start scrapbooking, but any excuse to go shopping. So here's what I managed to gather in my little trip into my local town centre (although a trip to hobby craft may be on the cards).

Month in Photos || April

This month has been probably been my busiest yet as I've constantly had something going on, but I have to say I love it. The month started off with a full bank holiday weekend, a trip to the pub with friends (and finally trying out my polaroid camera) – also excuse the extremely posed/pouting shot but when I started doing this I said I would include all the photos I posted and photos I was tagged in online. Followed by seeing Mcbusted the next night and Easter on the Sunday, I was impressed that despite being 21 now I still got an impressive chocolate haul (that I'm still making my way through). On bank holiday Monday I decided to get productive and do some belated Easter baking complete with mini cream eggs and mini malteaster bunnies – I was planning the traditional mini eggs but given that I'd left it a little late they were nowhere to be found in my local shops. However I'd say they were pretty well received seeing as my boyfriend requested them again later in the month when there were somehow still reduced cream eggs around.

The weather has definitely picked up this month and it finally feels like winter is well and truly gone and summer is here (at least in the typical English spirit of the first bit of sun) saw a sunny trip to the butterfly jungle in Bexley – full post on that here. In the true spirit of this sunshine I even braved the shorts, because yes it really was that hot and took a trip to the seaside but unfortunately didn't take any pictures. I've even been to two BBQ's this month, this sunshine is just glorious and here's to hoping it sticks around for a long time. Obviously my month would not be complete without some book purchases also, so of course these feature. Lastly despite saying I'd explore London more I still found myself returning to the natural history museum once again for their Friday night late this month, they have dinosaurs I couldn't resist and it offered something else to do on a Friday rather than going for dinner and drinks (although they did have drink there).
This month I have clearly been making a more conscious effort to take more photos, hopefully I'll keep this up next month and improve further!
